COMMUNITY FUND
Just a reminder that there will be a retiring collection after the morning
service this Sunday (7th March) for our Community Fund, which was
created to enable us to respond immediately to local situations, for example,
sending a gift of money to a local family who have suffered a house fire. Any donations will be very
gratefully
received. Thank you

CLEANING
We
hope to have appointed a cleaner in about 3 weeks.
Meanwhile we need to
keep our premises clean and tidy. I
have put up a new cleaning rota on the boiler-house door in the corridor and
would appreciate everyone taking a turn to clean somewhere if you possibly can.
(During the last few weeks a few people have done the occasional job but 2
people have done most of it – and they are going away!!)
PLEASE don’t leave it to
others!
Please
contact me if you need arrangements for access, etc.
With thanks,
Heather Corry

DAILY BREAD
FOOD LARDER
- Churches Together in
Grimsby
Many
residents of North East Lincolnshire find themselves experiencing poverty,
hardship and distress, despite a statutory system that in general supports them.
To help those who experience emergency, temporary financial need Churches
Together and Christian Action Resource Enterprise (CARE)
are working in partnership to provide short term relief of food poverty in the
area.
Local churches have
agreed, for one month each, to provide weekly donations into the larder. Those
in need can apply for help and CARE
will assess the need and distribute the items.
We have been helping this project for a number of years now. You
are invited to select a particular item – preferably tinned or packeted and
having a long shelf life, and pledging to bring this item each week for the
month of March. We will have a table at the front of church to receive
your items on a weekly basis. At the end of March a representative from
the organisation will receive the collection.
Tinned meat and
vegetables, soups, jams, pasta sauces, tea and coffee are particularly in need.
Can we make
the collection as large as last year??!!!
THANK YOU
